T&P Series: Criterion - Service

Description

Service to the Library, the University, the State and the Profession is one of three criteria that form the foundation to any determination regarding a librarian’s qualifications for tenure and promotion. In this session, three panelists will share insights and tips on how to build a service portfolio under both iterations of the criterion, with an emphasis on the difference between a strong record of service and one of distinction. You will also learn about balancing committee work, both within the libraries and in the profession, and how to evaluate and select committees that are relevant to your work. The format will be a short panel discussion with time for Q&A. Please bring questions and examples from your draft packet.
