T&P Series – Criterion 2: Research, Scholarship and Creative Works/Professional Development and Scholarship
Tuesday, June 25, 2019, 2:30 PM–3:30 PM, MSL Room 136
Criterion 2 is one of three criteria evaluated when assessing a faculty member’s qualifications for tenure and promotion. This session provides insight into the process of building a scholarship portfolio under the older and current versions of Criterion 2, with a comparison of the two versions and notes about their differences. Panelists will discuss scholarship and outcomes, from solo author and co-authorship to grants, other publishing, and sabbatical outcomes. They also will talk about non-traditional venues for creative works, from exhibitions to open access publications, and poster presentations to digital humanities. The panel includes faculty who have served on the T&P Committee and who revised Criterion 2 guidelines. Panelists will share their experiences in a range of these forms of scholarship and creative works across the breadth of the library and different stages of faculty careers, with questions from attendees following their comments.
Video conferencing is on request. Please email Danielle Sessions (dsessions@ufl.edu) if you will be attending the session via video conferencing.
