Learn to Sew - Make a T-shirt Bag

Learn to Sew - Make a T-shirt Bag In-Person

Want to make a costume for Halloween or an early start for Swampcon?  Come to the Makery at the Marston Science Library and learn hand sewing skills plus how to use a sewing machine.  You'll learn how to thread a needle, tie a knot, sew a running stitch, thread a sewing machine, and how to start and stop the machine.

We'll use all of these skills in sewing a t-shirt bag so bring a t-shirt that you don't mind cutting up and repurposing.  We will have a few extra shirts if needed.  Marston will provide the sewing machines, thread, scissors, and needles.

Space is limited so be sure to register.

Is registration already full?  This is a joint series of workshops with the Alachua County Public Library and they will be holding another one on October 5 at 2pm as part of their Fab Fridays at the downtown Headquarters Library.  Find out more about that twin workshop here: https://attend.aclib.us/website/event/1118841
